Robbie: I have been writing about different things, on and off, since I was 12 years old.

Robbie: As a youngster, I wrote because I wanted to capture beautiful sights with lovely imagery. At work, I started writing non-fiction publications to share knowledge and opinions. In 2015, I started writing poetry and descriptive passages again and in 2018 I wrote my first…

Shirley:  Trying to address issues.

NJ:  Hi, Patty, thanks for joining me today!  First, a few questions to warm the atmosphere and for us to learn some things we probably don’t know about you.  I’m short on time and I’m sure you are, too, so let’s make this a quick one.  First question… when is your birthday?

Patty:  October 9

NJ:  If you have siblings, which child are you (first, second, third, etc.)?

Patty:  First

NJ:  When did you begin writing?

Patty:  My first article was published in 2008, but I wrote for fun long before that.

NJ:  Why did you begin writing?

Patty:  I’ve always loved to write, but never thought I was good enough. My husband encouraged me to take a course called Writing to Publish. Seeing my article in print was exciting enough to make me want to publish more.

NJ: 

My friend once sent me a beautiful portrait that she had commissioned of my family.  Along with that priceless gift, she sent me a text with the link to an old gospel song that contained the following lyrics: 

“Give me my flowers right now. If you feel like I deserve anything, don’t wait until I’m dead and gone.  If I’ve been nice to you or done something to make you happy along the way, then give me my flowers now while I can still see the beauty that they bring.” 

She said to me that she wanted to gift me with something beautiful because I was the most generous and thoughtful person she’d ever met.  She said she wanted me to know how much she appreciated me before one of us left this earth.  I’ve never forgotten that generous gift, nor the fact that someone viewed me in such a…

This was originally posted back in April of 2021. As I sit here today, thinking about what’s going on in my nation’s capitol (Ottawa, Canada), just a few hours drive from here, I thought it could use a reposting.

Cassie took a deep breath and blew her wishes into the wind. It was getting dark and Mommy wanted her home for dinner, so she got up and watched them drift into the sunset. Satisfied, Cassie went home, washed up, and sat down at the table.

“So, Miss, what did you get up to today?” Mother smiled.

“I blew some wishes out into the world.”

Mother handed Cassie a plate of spaghetti, her favorite, and winked at her. “I’d ask you what those were, but I know that takes away their magic.”
