In the middle of a European society filled with chaos and struggle, where mistrust and discrimination were widely practiced against a small ethnic group of people, a young baby was born into an affluent family on July 25, 1920. As her eyes opened to view the lights of the world, racism, anti-Semitism, and suffrage were the political and economic topics that dominated the century. Fear, envy, and jealousy throttled opportunities, and although she was born English, her nationality could not eradicate her ethnicity–– she was Jewish.
