Have you ever wondered where inspiration comes from? Curiosity fuels mine, only because I love exploring bunny trails. Are you curious? If you could explore this world’s most mysterious places, would you?

Years ago, I would have jumped at the chance, and often did explore the world around me. But the MOST mysterious places? I missed my window by growing older, raising a family and enjoying all the mundane things that make up a full and satisfying life. And yet, the curiosity remained. And then one day, I discovered a way to visit those places and more.

Curious about a tetrachromat artist who sees far more colors than normal humans, I dove into research. A link here and another there led me to native American cultures and beliefs and, in one mind-bending flash, my Tetrasphere series was born.

As the story took flight, my characters led me to some of the real mysteries of our planet.

  • In the Crystal Cave in Mexico, scientists walk on giant crystals that hum in a low frequency and contain living microorganisms called extremophiles.
  • Uluru, the red mountain in the heart of the Outback, shaped roughly like a melted triangle, is sacred to the natives who believe their ancient ancestors still inhabit it.
  • Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world and shared by Peru and Bolivia, is home to the floating islands of the Uros people, built and maintained entirely of reeds.

These and other real places are settings in the series.

Add an ancient Cherokee prophecy, a dying planet, two alien races laying claim to Terra, our Earth, and four clueless teens expected to save it all. What could possibly go wrong?

Book 1: Terra’s Call

Jewel Adam’s special gifts forced her into a life of solitude as a young child, with only her parents as companions. Things change during her senior year in high school, when she discovers she’s not the only one with enhanced abilities.

Jewel, Sky Fletcher, her twin brother Pax, and Storm Ryder share more than the unusual shape and brilliant colors of their eyes. They have powers, and they share a destiny.

Are their powers enough to save the planet? Terra’s fate hangs in the balance. Will an ancient enmity between two star-systems cause them to fail? Are they willing to take the chance and risk their lives for mankind?

Book 2: Triton’s Call

A person standing in front of a brick wall

The girl of his dreams is missing. Pax, his sister Sky, and Storm race against time to find and free her, but when they do, will Jewel be his…or Storm’s?

Atlantis is a myth, or is it? In a city full of aliens, Jewel Adams discovers two factions, one planning to wipe out humans, and the other determined to fix our planet. Jewel must convince them all that Terra stands no chance unless she and her three friends are reunited.

In this exciting sequel to Terra’s Call, the four teens discover more mysteries in this world than any of them have dreamed of. They are about to meet some of those mysteries head-on.

Book 3: Voice of Viracocha

Everyone loves Sky Fletcher, except the one who owns her heart. Can she break through his defenses? Will there be time?

When Sky and the others are needed in South America, they discover an evil alien zeroing in on her friend Jewel. How can they stop him? In their search for answers, the teens find unlikely allies as strange as the interplanetary races they’ve already encountered. Will their combined efforts be enough to rescue Jewel from a fate that would doom the planet to self-destruct?

In this exciting sequel to Triton’s Call, more prophecies are revealed, but if even one of the four is unable to help, all hope is lost.

Book 4: Terra’s Anthem

A screen shot of a person

Troubled Storm won’t risk losing someone else he loves. He won’t let anyone in, especially Sky, who has a nasty habit of breaking through his defenses. When he’s taken off-world, everything changes.

Millions of artifacts spread throughout the globe need healing before the planet is safe, and only four teens can fix them. They must do the impossible. A looming war threatens to end humanity. If every sentient species inhabiting our planet can cooperate, Terra may still be doomed.

In this compelling conclusion of the Tetrasphere series, only one thing can save the planet now. Will they discover it in time?

As it turned out, gratitude, not curiosity, fueled the inspiration for my Inspirational Memoir/Devotional, Reflections of a Misfit.

A friend challenged me to write something I’m grateful for every day during the month of November. I didn’t stop at the end of the month. My gratitude posts became a daily love fest for an entire year, and my friends, my readers, wanted more. Reflections of a Misfit was the result.

Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong? Maybe you were given a job you didn’t feel qualified for. Maybe you couldn’t see the truth through your own preconceived ideas, or resisted moving toward something that might require more of you than you were willing to invest. I’m describing me, the misfit.

In Reflections of a Misfit, you’ll see my life through snippets of memory in light of Scriptures. I learned what it means to:

  • walk in faith
  • live without fear
  • embrace adventure
  • throw off the chains of expectations and judgmental attitudes
  • love those who are different from me and
  • live in more freedom than I’d ever experienced before

Want to know my secrets? They’re all there, in Reflections of a Misfit.

  1. My curiosity is still here too… over the middle of my life and I’m still as curious as a child when it comes to explore something, be it a trail, or just something new I’ve never seen before… my fantasy series takes place in spheres I cannot explore, but that doesn’t stop my fantasy from wandering. This is a very interesting series of books and I added it to my pile.

    • Thanks for stopping by, Susanne! If you’re interested in the series, then Book 1: Terra’s Call is where you should start. They aren’t stand alone because the story arc needed continuity.

  4. Hi Patty–I am intrigued by your series, and I’m anxious to start reading your books. My reading list is growing huge, especially after the conference, but I’m getting there! The characters sound fascinating, and I’m also always looking for interesting books for my 16-year-old great niece. She was visiting us from Georgia this summer, and I had a full reading list when she arrived. Your series looks perfect for her. She loves this genre. Thanks for a wonderful post.

  11. Hi Patty,
I can see from your blurbs on your series that I want to read everyone of them. So, I will start with book number 1 Terra’s Call. They all seem to be romance books or have a romance plot within the book and I look forward to reading them.
Wishing you all the best on the tour.
